The penultimate season of post-launch content for Treyarch's latest release is highly likely to feature all kinds of brand-new content, including new weapons, multiplayer maps, game modes, and so much more as the ongoing conflict between Adler and Stitch begins to reach its conclusion. Even though there are still a few weeks of Season 4 remaining, players are already turning their attention to the next major content in the Call of Duty calendar. It's not just brand-new content that players are getting excited about. Season 5 could play host to the reveal of COD 2021 which is expected to take place in August, meaning that there is every chance of a new event making an appearance in multiplayer. Activision has released a short trailer showcasing a small portion of the content that will be included in the Season 5 Battle Pass. Alongside two new weapons and the Kitsune Operator, players will be able to get their hands on a range of weapon blueprints and new cosmetic items.

Although there have been minimal details surrounding Season 5, we can take a rough guess as to what the theme of the season will be. As the ongoing conflict between Stitch and Adler continues, it's more than likely that the theme of Season 5 will revolve around it once again.

Black Ops Cold War Season 5 Start Date Based on the Season 4 Battle Pass, we can determine when Season 5 of Black Ops Cold War will get underway. The current iteration of the Battle Pass comes to an end on August 11th, meaning the new season will begin on August 12th.
There is a possibility of two in-game events taking place in Season 5. The first is the Days of Summer event which has been rumoured to return for a number of weeks and the second involves the reveal of COD 2020, reportedly titled Vanguard. With the reveal event expected to take place within Warzone, it's likely that another event will run alongside it in Black Ops Cold War, giving players the chance to earn some exclusive cosmetic items.
So far, there have been no clues surrounding which Operators will be joining the ever-expanding roster in Season 5. It's more than likely that the new additions will be tied into the storyline between Adler and Stitch.
Treyarch has bucked the trend of introducing classic Black Ops 2 maps into the map pool rather than adding in all-new battlefields. The all-new Echelon map has been leaked for several months but has yet to officially arrive into the game while other reports have suggested that Plaza and Yemen are in line for a return. Over the course of previous seasons, a number of classic COD game modes have slowly made their return in Black Ops Cold War. The most recent mode to return was Capture The Flag, a simple yet incredibly competitive mode enjoyed by the casual and competitive communities. With plenty of other game modes still missing from Black Ops Cold War, there is every chance that more will be appearing in the Season 5 update. Perhaps Sabotage and Demolition will return? We will have to wait and see.
Considering Mauer Der Toten has recently released, it's likely that Season 5 could be a quiet one for Black Ops Cold War Zombies. Rather than a new map, there is a possibility of a third Outbreak Easter Egg quest being added to the mode to bridge the gap between Mauer Der Toten and the release of the fourth round-based map. Along with a new Easter Egg, it's likely that plenty of new Intel providing clues on the final Zombies chapter will arrive on August 12th. We will find out who The Director is? We will have to wait and see!
